Ohenewa possesses twenty years of work experience mostly in Banking and Finance having held leadership roles in Commercial and Investment banking in Ghana and the UK. She has also been engaged in business strategy formulation and structuring, financial management and advisory, project management, business evaluation, corporate and project finance, business development, and capacity building for various private and public sector small, medium, local, and multinational corporations.
Ohenewa is currently a Project Consultant at Niche Cocoa Industries, helping to design, implement and drive digitization and financial inclusion offerings along the company's cocoa purchasing value chain. She has also worked as a consulting partner with Atlaswealth Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the Dwennimmen Group Ghana Limited, undertaking transaction advisory, capital raising and business restructuring for both private and public sector entities.
She also played a key consulting role in transitioning of union savings & loans company into universal Bank (OMNIBSIC), set up various systems, developed a comprehensive corporate banking strategy and innovative products and services.
Ohenewa is also a pioneering member of Fidelity Bank Ghana where she worked in various capacities and held key management positions including Director, Local & Multinational Corporates, Head, Debts & Syndication, Head, Corporate Credit and Head, Monitoring & Recoveries. At Fidelity, she was instrumental in setting up the Commercial Banking Unit of the Bank and the development of their various retail and SME products. She also structured credit transactions for clients operating in the Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) sector, as well as for multinational corporates in Commodities, Oil & Gas, Mining and Power, Telecommunication, Real Estate, Utilities, Education, Manufacturing and Non- Bank Financial institutions.
Ohenewa Sakyi-Bekoe started her career in banking as a Management Trainee at Prudential Bank Ghana and rose through the ranks to the position of Senior Credit Analyst before moving to work with Wall Street Investment Plc in the UK as an Investment Analyst. At Wall Street Investment Plc, she advised on a number of mergers and acquisition including the raising of capital for small businesses on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). She also provided strategic management advisory, restructured financially distressed companies and supported in raising capital to fund acquisitions.
Ohenewa is a Chartered Investment Analyst and a member of Chartered Global Investment Analysts (CGIA). She also holds an LLB from Mountcrest University College, Ghana, an MBA in Financial Management from the University of Hull in the UK and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences obtained from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),Ghana.
